Republican presidential candidate, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, speaks during a town hall meeting in Boca Raton, Florida November 30, 2007.
At a town hall meeting in Florida this afternoon, a questioner asked Rudy what he was going to do about Russian President Vladimir Putin?
Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Friday advocated a strong military build-up by the United States as a bulwark against the oil-rich Russian President Vladimir Putin and his increasing consolidation of power in the country.
“The good part with Russia is we’re not in a Cold War, there is no longer a Soviet empire, their desires are still of a matter of concern but they’re not nearly what they used to be and we don’t want to get ourselves back into that,” said Giuliani, who described Putin as both “good and bad.”
“Long term the way we prevent getting ourselves back into that, both with regard to Russia, and even China, is to become militarily even stronger.”
Of course! And a good answer by the Mayor. The military was weakened by Hillary Clinton’s husband, Bill, and while he used the “peace dividend” to pay down budget deficits over the long term America’s military might still suffers.
The Mayor has not lost a step with the “political hits” over the last few days and is playing to his leadership role as America’s next President.
When the chips are down, who does America REALLY want as President to lead them against Russia, China, Iran and the rest of the Islamofascists?
Rudy

Rudy Giuliani FINALLY goes on the offensive against Mitt Romney in New Hampshire.
In a big strategic shift, Rudy Giuliani hammered Mitt Romney’s record Sunday on three fronts, saying it was time to “take the mask off and take a look at what kind of governor was he.”
Using some of the toughest language of his campaign, Giuliani, in an interview with Politico, slammed Romney on health care, crime and taxes. At the same time he portrayed the one-time moderate as a hypocrite on a host of social issues who lives “in a glass house.” It was easily the most sweeping attack Giuliani has delivered against Romney in this campaign.
Rudy is right and there are plenty of issues to draw upon for television and radio ads:
Mitt Romney is ONLY doing well in the polls in states where he has been “on air” with television ads without being contested. He flounders in all of the rest and Rudy is beating him.
Watch the Giuliani campaign to start airing “FLIP-FLOP Mitt ads and other ads highlighting Romney’s oddities and inconsistencies.

Former mayor of New York and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani meets with a veteran at the Maple Tree restaurant in Oak Park, Illinois November 20, 2007.
Research 2000 Nevada GOP Poll:
Rudy is up from August as are Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul. Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson are both down but Romney more than Thompson.
This is the second Nevada poll this week showing Rudy with a firm lead. Nevada’s GOP caucus will be January 19th the same day as the South Carolina primary election.
A Western state that caucuses 14 days after Iowa, Rudy is showing strength in a state with a large Mormon population that is contiguous to Utah. This is a state thought to be “OWNED” by Mitt Romney.
It is looking like Nevada might be the first “EARLY” state that delivers a win for Giuliani before the Florida and Super Duper Tuesday Primary elections.

The Mason-Dixon Florida GOP Poll:
Rudy has opened a commanding lead in Florida - his “FIREWALL” state. Fred Thompson has collapsed in the past two months and is now in third place.
Since Thompson trails the field badly in Iowa and New Hampshire is there any guarantee that he will be competitive in Florida. Or will Florida be make or break for Fred?
Note that Rudy has not aired ANY television commercials in Florida while Mitt Romney has been “on air” for weeks.
Let’s look at the Real Clear Politics chart and graph of the Florida race:

Republican presidential hopeful former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani greets supporters at a coffee shop in Loveland, Colo., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007.
The St. Petersburg Times Poll:
The big news out of this Florida poll is the collapse of Fred Thompson. Florida was to be the battleground between Rudy and Thompson.
Now, will it be the battleground between Rudy and Romney?
Mitt Romney has been “on air” with television commercials and is polling even with Rudy in Central Florida. Whereas, Giuliani continues with a large lead in South Florida.
The November 7 Survey USA Florida poll had Thompson polling at 22% with Romney at 17%. Rudy maintained 34% support.
So, the question is whether this poll is an OUTLIER or has indeed the Thompson campaign collapsed in Florida and in turn given Mitt Romney an opening.

Within the hour, social conservative leader and televangelist Pat Robertson will ENDORSE Rudy Giuliani for President.
So who is Pat Robertson?
Robertson is widely viewed as one of the pillars of the religious right. He founded the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Christian Coalition and Regent University in Virginia Beach. Robertson ran for president in 1988, finishing a surprising second in the Iowa caucuses before losing steam in later states.
This is a COUP for Giuliani and highlights the split in the social conservative movement.
Previously, Mitt Romney, a Mormon, has been actively courting social conservatives and has boasted the endorsements of Paul Weyrich and Bob Jones III.
This endorsement will help the Mayor in the South and the Midwest “Bible Belt.” With his Christian Broadcasting Network, Robertson will broadcast social conservative acceptability for Rudy.

The poll gives Rudy a double digit lead over John McCain who has limited his campaign to Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Fred Thompson’s campaign continues to collapse while Mike Huckabee is now threatening Mitt Romney’s fourth place.
In the general election portion of the poll, Rudy Giuliani does the best of any GOP candidate, trailing Hillary Clinton by only 4 percentage points - well within competitive striking distance.
Let’s look at the Real Clear politics chart and graph:

The trend line is looking bright for Rudy.
For all of the Ron Paul folks, Dr. Ron is at 3%.
