Giuliani warns of ‘new 9/11′ if Dems win

Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.

But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.

The Quotes:

“If any Republican is elected president - - and I think obviously I would be the best at this - - we will remain on offense and will anticipate what (the terrorists) will do and try to stop them before they do it,” Giuliani said.

“But the question is how long will it take and how many casualties will we have?” Giuliani said. “If we are on defense (with a Democratic president,) we will have more losses and it will go on longer.”

“The Democrats do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorist war against us.”

“America will (be) safer with a Republican president.”

“This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!” Giuliani said. “Never ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for (terrorists) to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!”

Giuliani said terrorists “hate us and not because of anything bad we have done; it has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world.”

Giuliani continued: “The freedoms we have are in conflict with the perverted, maniacal interpretation of their religion.” He said Americans would fight for “freedom for women, the freedom of elections, freedom of religion, and the freedom of our economy.”

Addressing the terrorists directly, Giuliani said: “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!”

“They were at war with us before we realized it, going back to 90s with all the Americans killed by the PLO and Hezbollah and Hamas,” he said. “They came here and killed us in 1993 (with the first attack on New York’s World Trade Center killing six people) and we didn’t get it. We didn’t get it that this was a war. Then Sept. 11, 2001 happened and we got it.”

After Rudy’s delivered line of “We are not giving that up and you are not going to take it from us!” the crowd assembled at the New Hampshire Rockingham County Lincoln Day Dinner thundered its approval.

Flap awaits the Democrat response.

How about it Harry or Hillary? Barack?

Oh, yeah, almost forgot……Flap agrees with every quote.

Serve it up to the Dims, Rudy!

Battle for New York Tightens

According to a new Siena Poll in New York, Rudy Giuliani has cut Hillary Clinton’s lead in New York from 12 points last month to 5 points today.

This comes on the heels of another Quinnipiac Poll in New Jersey showing the former New York City mayor taking that state’s 15 electoral votes out of the Democratic column by a 49% to 40% margin.

The logic of a Giuliani candidacy cannot be more compelling.  His ability to win New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania alone merit his winning the nomination.  Without those three states, a Democratic candidate CANNOT win.

Fox News Poll Indicates Continuing Strong Giuliani Lead

According to a new Fox News poll, Rudy Giuliani continues to hold a wide lead over his competition in the Republican field.  Since the previous poll in late March, Giuliani has only lost 1 point, while John McCain, his closest competitor, has lost 4.  Fred Thompson, the darling of those who were seeking an alternative to the top three candidates, has fallen from 10% to 8%, running behind no-chance Newt Gingrich.
An extremely good sign for the former New York Mayor is his 48% to 18% lead among Republican respondents.  Among independents, he leads 34% to 22%.  In addition, Giuliani has very high favorable ratings – 55%.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is now the front runner by a wide margin in the race for the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidential election, even though the first primary elections will not take place until February 2008. Giuliani leads Senator John McCain by fully 39 percent to 18 percent among those who think they will vote in the Republican primaries or caucuses. Former Governor Mitt Romney (14%) and former Senator (and movie and TV star) Fred Thompson (13%) are not very far behind McCain. The only other candidate with more than two percent of Republican preferences is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (9%).

Crime Fighting Mayor, Part I

Over the next few weeks, I intended to take a closer look at the amazing record of Rudy Giuliani as the Mayor of New York City. This article is a must-read to get a better idea of his equally impressive tenure as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

More Evidence New York could be a 2008 Battleground

According to a new Quinnipiac Poll, Rudy Giuliani now trails Hillary Clinton 50%-42% in the Empire State. The former mayor does well in the suburbs and upstate, but not enough to compensate for Clinton’s 66%-27% lead in NYC. Giuliani is in a dead heat with both Obama and Edwards, largely on residual strength in NYC.

Neither John McCain nor Mitt Romney pose so serious a threat to the Democratic control of New York’s 29 electoral votes for the past 5 Presidential elections.

New York

One of the major benefits to having Rudy Giuliani lead the Republican ticket in 2008 in his unique ability to put in play states that Republican Presidential candidates have not won in two decades or more. New York is one of those states, according to a new Siena College poll. While Giuliani trails Hillary Clinton by 12 points, this is actually a 2 point improvement from a poll conducted by the same firm in November. In addition, the former Mayor leads Barrack Obama 45% to 42%.

Of course, if Giuliani carries New York, then that means he is carrying just about every other state on election night. While his ability to win these states will certainly depend on conditions in Iraq, his strength in these early polls, and under these circumstances, should give every Republican hope.
